Instructional Strategies for Using Mobile Computers in the Classroom

This lab identifies ten instructional strategies that take advantage of the affordability of laptops, mini-laptops, and cellphone computers, Participants will then use what they have just learned to plan lessons and projects, based on their own existing curriculum, that use the ten strategies. A round of sharing and critiquing will follow.

MACUL’s Special Interest group for Multimedia (SIGMM) has recently announced their annual multimedia contest, leading up the to big conference in March. I apologize for not posting this sooner, but you can find details both on their site or MACUL Space. If you have students in grades K-12 that are working on, or have recently completed a digital story, podcast, or other multimedia project, consider entering and show off how hard your students’ have been working.

The Multimedia Special Interest Group (SIGMM) of MACUL is hosting its 2009 Multimedia Contest for Michigan Students during the months of January & February.
Entries will be accepted in each of 3 categories:
* Digital Storytelling (Grades K-4),
* Multimedia (Grades 5-8),
* Enhanced Podcasting (Grades 9-12).
Contest applications from sponsoring teachers are due between Jan. 5 and midnight Feb. 9, 2009; teachers may sponsor up to 3 entries.
