Just spent the 10:00 session in with the MI Champions for the 2009-2010 school year.  It was quite a group of people, most of whom had never attended a MACUL conference before.  Numbers are up this year, I hear, and I suspect it is because of the MI Champion project.  Hats off to Judy and Marie for all their work this week!

I’m a coach for 5 schools: 3 elementary schools, 1 special ed regional school, and 1 high school.  A pretty diverse group!  As part of their professional development, each team must attend 2 days of training during the summer.  After that it’s full speed ahead as the new school year approaches (thinking about next year is difficult, I know).

Coming to the conference for the first time can be overwhelming…hopefully everyone is willing to split up somewhat to cover more ground.  There’s safety in numbers, but it’s nice to try to get as much info as possible by varying the sessions you attend.

You’ll recognize the MI-Champions by the light blue ribbon on their name badge.  (How sweet is that…a ribbon at your first MACUL conference.)
